At last, managed to swim in the Tidal Pool at Pittenweem. There are a few along the East Neuk coastline. Local swimmers are keen to repair them, I hope they do. I can see into the past, sunbathing locals and visitors, wriggling on the hot stone. Exposed flesh goose-bumped, red blotched and blue-veined from the sea but stalwart. It was a lovely swim, sandwiched between a shower of hail stones and grey thunderous cloud racing in on the east wind. By the time the deluge came I was in the van warming up, with a brew.
